Once Upon a Time: What’s next for Rumple and Belle?
Posted by: Kris on August, 4th in Interviews & Articles, Once Upon a Time Updates

Will the Rumple and Belle relationship survive? It’s been one of the many burning questions ever since it was announced that Emilie de Ravin would not be returning as a series regular — while Robert Carlyle will — in the upcoming rebooted seventh season of Once Upon a Time.

OUAT fans definitely will get an answer as to what has happened to Belle, along with their child Gideon (Giles Matthey), when both return in the emotional fourth episode of the season. “Episode 4 is a Rumple-centric type episode that will explain to the audience quite a lot about their relationship — actually even from way, way back in the Fairy Tale Land as well,” Carlyle tells EW about the hour. “It follows the course of their relationship through the years and it explains… where she is now in terms of her life after Storybrooke.”

“The end of season 6 was truly a ‘happy beginning’ for Rumple and Belle and we’re excited to tell what we think is a deeply romantic story about where they go next as both a couple and as parents to Gideon,” executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis tease.

As previously revealed, Rumple is among those who come running when Henry (Andrew J. West) needs help, which is apparently why he ends up cursed in Seattle alongside Regina (Lana Parrilla) and Hook (Colin O’Donoghue). Details on Rumple’s cursed persona have been scarce, while it appears Hook is a cop and Regina may be a bartender. Carlyle is also staying mum on who his character is now, offering this small tease: “He is very, very different to Gold,” he says. “They come from the same place, but they’re very, very different people. At this point, it’s safe to say he’s a very, very different guy from Gold.”

Once Upon a Time will return Friday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Once Upon a Time Spoilers

Will the flashbacks on Once Upon a Time next season show what’s happened over the last decade? — Hope

I’d put good money on the flashbacks filling in some of those blanks, but considering several of the characters that will be returning — Hook and Rumple, among them — have been around for quite a long time, the series could potentially flash back even further than that. “That’s one of the great advantages of having characters who can be hundreds of years old, we can span different eras and do many different things,” EP Adam Horowitz says.

Once Upon a Time Season 7 Details
Posted by: Kris on May, 17th in Once Upon a Time Updates

On Tuesday afternoon at ABC’s Upfront presentation, ABC entertainment chief Channing Dungey touted Season 7 as a “reboot,” revealing that Hook, the Evil Queen and Rumplestiltskin “return but with new identities in a new city, facing a new curse.”

Explaining the series’ move to Friday, Dungey said on Tuesday morning, “Once Upon a Time has done a wonderful job on Sundays of sort of ‘keeping the lights on’ against football [on NBC and CBS], but we’re really looking to see how that show will perform when it’s away from football for a little while.”

In the wake of a half-dozen major exits — including series lead Jennifer Morrison — Once Upon a Time Season 7 will run 22 episodes and count Parrilla, O’Donoghue, West, Fernandez and Carlyle among its series regulars.

Once Upon a Time Moving to Fridays for Season 7
Posted by: Kris on May, 17th in Once Upon a Time Updates

In the wake of six cast members leaving the series — including Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, Josh Dallas, Rebecca Mader, Emilie de Ravin, and Jared Gilmore — OUAT will shift focus to follow an adult Henry (now played by Andrew J. West) and his daughter, along with returning faces Regina (Lana Parrilla), Hook (Colin O’Donoghue), and Rumple (Robert Carlyle). And now we know what they’ll be up to!

ABC revealed this tidbit about season 7 in releasing its new fall schedule on Tuesday morning: “After six seasons, the residents of the enchanted forest face their greatest challenge yet as The Evil Queen, Captain Hook and Rumplestiltskin join forces with a grown up Henry Mills and his daughter Lucy on an epic quest to once again bring hope to their world and ours. Along the way, new fairy tale characters and old search for true love, find adventure and once again take sides in the struggle of good against evil, as classic tales are once more twisted and reimagined.”

Once Upon a Time will be moving to Fridays at 8 p.m. ET this fall. While we settle into the long wait, get scoop on the new season from executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis here.
